Sweet Lemon Fruit Dip

Sweet Lemon Fruit Dip

Fruit dips are highly under-rated.  A fruit tray accompanied by fruit dip is an easy crowd pleaser (wooden skewers for easy dipping are a nice touch).  This recipe makes a summer style fruit dip that takes just a minute to whip up.  It’s sweet, creamy and refreshingly tart.  This is a great recipe to have up your sleeve for unexpected dinner guests, sweet cravings, potlucks or to entice little ones to eat their fruit.  Enjoy!

Sweet Lemon Fruit Dip

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • zest of 1 lemon (about 1 Tablespoon)

Directions:

  • Place all the ingredients in a small bowl and stir until they’re evenly mixed.
  • Optional – If you want a fluffier dip you can whip it for a minute or two with a hand mixer (I normally skip this step)
  • Serve with sliced fruit and enjoy!

Notes:

  • Substitutions – I use lemon zest for this recipe simply because I like lemons.  However, pretty much any citrus fruit would work.  Start with about 1 Tablespoon of zest and add more to taste.
