Thousand Island Dressing

Thousand Island Dressing

This is our take on classic thousand island salad dressing.  It’s easy to whip up on a moment’s notice because it only takes a couple minutes, it contains ingredients we keep on hand, and best of all – it tastes amazing!  It’s like the store bought kind only better and without the weird stuff like high fructose corn syrup, polysorbate 60, preservatives and artificial colors.  This simple dressing is a great way to impress family and friends.   It also makes a good dip which can be used to entice little ones to eat more veggies!

Thousand Island Dressing – Serves 6+

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mild vinegar such as rice or white
  • 1 ½ teaspoons honey (or 2 t sugar)
  • 1 Tablespoon sweet pickle relish or chopped pickles
  • 1 Tablespoon onion, finely minced – I like sweet onion
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

  • Mix all the ingredients in a small-medium sized bowl.  Stir until well blended.
  • Dressing can be eaten right away but tastes even better after a few hours of refrigeration.  Lasts for about 3 days in the fridge.
