Chesterfield Farmers Market Review

Chesterfield Farmers Market Review

Chesterfield Farmers Market

  • Address: 11500 Midlothian Turnpike, Bon Air (inside the Chesterfield Towne Center Mall)
  • Hours: Tuesday – Saturday 10-6 (year round)

This market is located inside the Chesterfield Towne Center Mall.  Go in the main entrance off the Midlothian Turnpike (the entrance flanked by Ulta and Old Navy) then walk straight across towards the opposite set of doors.  The market is just before the exit doors across from Coldwater Creek.

Chesterfield is a new market that started in 2011 and I give them credit for creativity.  It’s indoors, year round, 5 days a week (Tuesday through Saturday) and surrounded by other places to shop.  This makes it a very unique and convenient market and I’ll be interested to see how it takes off.  At the time of this writing the market is still very small.  They claim to have about a dozen vendors but in my experience only about half that many are present on any given day (in all fairness I’ve only gone during the week so perhaps Saturdays are bigger).  The vendors include local produce, raw honey, baked goods, coffee, tea, and some art, craft and jewelry vendors.  The selection is limited so it’s not a market that I would go out of my way to attend.  But if you’re already at the mall, it’s totally worth popping in for some fresh, local goodies.  They still have room at the back of the market to host additional vendors and I’m hopeful that this market takes off and becomes bigger and better in the near future.
