Furniture Polish Recipe

Furniture Polish Recipe

Furniture Polish Spray (Time: 3 minutes)

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoons light olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white distilled vinegar
  • 1 3/4 cup water
  • 25 drops Lemon essential oil
Supplies:
  • 16 oz spray bottle
Directions:
  • Mix the olive oil, vinegar and essential oil in the spray bottle.
  • Fill the rest of the bottle with water and shake well to mix.
Use:
  • Give the bottle a quick shake before using (olive oil and vinegar separate) then spray on a cloth or rag and wipe down your dusty wood furniture.
Note:
  • Vinegar cleans wood beautifully, just remember to wipe it off.  Sitting vinegar can damage some finishes.
  • Olive oil nourishes and shines wood.  If you’re working with old or dry wood and you’re looking to polish more than clean, increase the olive oil to 1/4 cup.

This recipe is based on the book Clean House, Clean Planet by Karen Logan: http://www.amazon.com/Clean-House-Planet-Karen-Logan/dp/0671535951/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1345489543&sr=1-1&keywords=clean+house%2C+clean+planet.  It’s a great little book full of homemade cleaning recipes.  It’s a very good read if you’re interested in making products of your own.
